Makoto Naegi finds himself as an unwilling participant of a horrific game with 14 other students on his first day at the elite Hope’s Peak Academy.

The students try to adjust to their new kill-or-be-killed lifestyle under Monokuma’s rule. A frightened Sayaka shows up at Makoto’s door.

A class trial begins with Makoto as the prime suspect. Someone unexpected rescues Makoto during his desperate attempt to prove his own innocence.

The students bond after the trial. A bored Monokuma announces that he will come up with a new incentive if someone doesn’t die within 24 hours.

The trial begins after the second victim is discovered. Byakuya reveals the surprising identity of the serial killer known as “Genocide Jack.”

10 students remain. Monokuma promises a large cash prize for anyone who graduates. Aoi claims to have seen the ghost of one of the victims.

The third trial begins. Yasuhiro is the prime suspect, but he claims to have been trapped in the locker room throughout the night before.

Sakura is accused of being a double agent. The A.I. left on Chihiro’s computer reveals valuable information on a particular incident.

The fourth trial begins after a body is found in the recreation room. Three suspects are named, but each of their accounts make matters more unclear.

The students find a classroom that looks to have been the scene of a terrible massacre when the top floor is unlocked.

The students are shocked to see themselves on TV, but the trial for the death of the mysterious 16th student soon begins.

Monokuma makes an announcement and unlocks all of the rooms. The students continue their investigations and stumble upon the shocking truth.

Certain there is a way to escape, Naegi declares to the leaders that he will stop the Killing Game and asks for their help, but they dismiss his hope.

Hearing Munakata’s creed, Naegi realizes his own hope is built on sacrifices, but Tengan sees Munakata’s weakness and leaves things in Naegi’s hands.

Ruruka Ando and Sonosuke Izayoi trade insults with former classmate and friend Seiko Kimura. With everyone trapped inside, hostilities intensify.

Kirigiri gathers clues to find the traitor. Naegi, heartened by his friends, decides to destroy the game. He manages to contact the outside world.

Monaca, aka Junko Enoshima II, had slipped into the Future Foundation’s Final Killing Game. To stop her, Naegi’s sister Komaru and Toko confront her.

Naegi and the others are told someone from the 78th class will die because of him. Kirigiri finds a way to escape, but it comes at a steep price.

Kirigiri, claiming escape impossible, deduces the likely attacker and meets up with Naegi. Munakata also obtains a clue to the attacker’s identity.

Naegi accepts a final battle with Munakata and resolves to follow his path. Munakata goes to Naegi to bring an end to the Game. Their hopes collide.

The Final Killing Game is over, but the truth behind it is hard to swallow. Naegi decides to act as a decoy to confirm the attacker’s identity.

Who is the mastermind, and why was the Game initiated? What is their objective? A certain person stands up for hope as the truth comes to light.
