When the Vallejos' patriarch dies, Sebastián returns to Colombia to be with family and meets Gaviota, a worker for whom his father had great affection.

The family gathers to hear the will. While Iván plots to keep his hands on the reins of the family business, Sebastián and Gaviota spend time together.

Sebastián, whose life is in New York, and Gaviota, who can't fathom being away from Colombia, try to imagine a life together. Iván and Lucrecia marry.
