Four years after a virus destroys humanity, the child survivors have become vampire prey. Yuichiro wants to escape, but not without his best friend.

Four years after his escape, Yuichiro joins the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. To join the elite vampire hunting squad, he has to make a friend.

Yuichiro spars with Shinoa, who defeats him easily using her Cursed Gear. To save Yuji and contract with a demon, he enters the forbidden chamber.

Though Mikaela is a vampire now, he's not quite like the others. Yuichiro and Yoichi enter a new classroom to train for the Cursed Gear aptitude test.

Krul assembles her vampires and declares war on the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. After a spellcraft exam, Guren arrives to test the class.

During the Contract Ceremony, Yuichiro, Yoichi and Shiho each confront their respective demons to either obtain their own Cursed Gears, or die trying.

Mitsuba Sangu joins the trio and Shinoa as the fifth member of Shinoa Squad, and Guren dispatches them to Harajuku on their first mission together.

The child that Yuichiro rescued tells them the vampires are based in Omotesando Station, and the squad moves to attack them immediately.

Vampires are attacking Shinjuku, and the squad arrives to help with defense. Shinoa gives the trio stimulant pills to enhance their power.

Yuichiro and Shinoa split off from the squad to help Nagai. While Ferid allows Mikaela to fight Guren, the rest of the Shinoa Squad are attacked.

Yuichiro recognizes Mikaela and hesitates. Ferid lures Yuichiro and Guren away so Mikaela can talk to Yuichiro while vampires attack the squad.

With Yuichiro still in a coma after five days, Shinoa confronts Guren about the stimulant pills. Meanwhile, Mikaela curses humans and vampires alike.
