Yuta Hibiki wakes up in an unfamiliar home with no idea who he is. A voice in his head leads him to seek answers from a musty computer terminal.

The next day, no trace remains of the monster or the damage it caused. Yuta asks Gridman for an explanation and learns that he must perform a mission.

Rikka skips school and spots a strange boy in the rain. Meanwhile, Utsumi gets Yuta so worked up about monsters that when one appears, he freezes.

Akane tries to get information about Yuta from Rikka by coaxing her onto a group date with some celebrities. Jealous, Yuta tails the group to karaoke.

Yuta's class heads out on a rafting trip. A ginormous kaiju suddenly appears but Yuta can't transform into Gridman without going back to the shop.

Akane orders Anti to go after Yuta, but he runs into Rikka first. Meanwhile, Yuta meets a girl who claims to know him from before his memory loss.

Yuta tries to tell Sho and Rikka the truth about the world they live in but they don't listen. Later, Akane approaches him with a surprising proposal.

Yuta's school prepares to host its first festival in years, but Akane tells Yuta that she'll destroy it with a powerful kaiju unless he can stop her.

Yuta relives the events from Episode 1, but with Akane replacing Rikka. Rikka and Utsumi also interact with Akane in ways that seem to make no sense.

The group speculates about to what extent they and their world are Akane's creations. Meanwhile, Akane has not been seen at school for a whole week.

Recent events keep the day from resetting, throwing the city into chaos. Meanwhile, Akane doesn't feel like making trouble, so someone else steps in.

Now together as one, Gridman and Yuta work with Rikka and Utsumi to fight the giant kaiju and save Akane. But Alexis isn't done with her yet.
