Takashi Ishii

Biography

Takashi Ishii (石井隆, Ishii Takashi, born 11 July 1946) is a Japanese film director, screenwriter and manga artist. Ishii started his career as a cartoonist when he was a student at Waseda University. He started in the film world as scriptwriter in 1978 and was involved with several 'roman porno' projects at Nikkatsu. His films have earned numerous international nominations and awards.
