Plot Summary of Ted 2

Three years after the events of the first film, Ted marries his girlfriend Tami-Lynn. However, their marriage hits a rough patch when they decide to have a child and discover that Tami-Lynn is infertile due to her history of drug use. Ted and his best friend John Bennett decide to adopt, but their application is denied when the state declares Ted property rather than a person. As a result, Ted is fired from his job and his marriage to Tami-Lynn is annulled.

Determined to prove that Ted is a person with rights, John and Ted enlist the help of a young lawyer named Samantha Jackson. Although Samantha lacks experience, the trio bond over their shared love of marijuana and prepare to take the case to court. Meanwhile, Ted's life-long stalker Donny works with a toy company to ensure that Ted remains property so they can create more living teddy bears.

Despite Samantha's efforts, the court rules against Ted, leaving the trio disheartened and desperate. They seek out a highly respected civil rights attorney named Patrick Meighan, who is initially reluctant to take the case. However, he eventually takes on the challenge and attempts to prove that Ted is capable of complex emotions and empathy. The group embarks on a wild adventure that involves Comic-Con, a coma, and a surprising twist that changes everything.

The Making of Ted 2

Ted 2 was directed by Seth MacFarlane, who also co-wrote the film's screenplay with Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild. The movie was produced by Media Rights Capital and Fuzzy Door Productions, with Universal Pictures serving as the film's distributor.

Principal photography for the film began in July 2014 in Massachusetts and lasted through November of that year. The movie features a star-studded cast that includes Mark Wahlberg, Seth MacFarlane, Amanda Seyfried, Giovanni Ribisi, Jessica Barth, John Slattery, and Morgan Freeman.

One of the distinctive aspects of Ted 2 is its satirical take on civil rights issues. The film uses the story of a talking teddy bear fighting for his rights to comment on real-life issues of discrimination and inequality. This unique approach to storytelling earned praise from some critics, while others felt that the film was too heavy-handed in its social commentary.

Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, Ted 2 was a box office success, grossing over $215 million worldwide on a budget of $68 million. The film also spawned a mobile game and a VR experience, further solidifying the franchise's popularity.

Overall, Ted 2 is a prime example of Seth MacFarlane's brand of irreverent humor and social commentary. Its success at the box office and continued popularity with audiences is a testament to the film's unique blend of satire and comedy.

Ted 2: Not Quite As Furry-tastic As The First

As a huge fan of the first Ted movie, I was excited to see what the sequel had in store. Unfortunately, I left the theater feeling disappointed. While there were certainly some funny moments and clever social commentary, overall the film fell flat compared to its predecessor.

The plot felt disjointed and unfocused, with too many subplots vying for attention. The addition of a love interest for Ted also felt forced and unnecessary. While the film still featured the hilarious banter between Ted and John, it lacked the heart that made the first film so endearing.

Despite its flaws, I can see why some audiences still enjoyed Ted 2. The chemistry between the actors is undeniable, and there are certainly some laugh-out-loud moments. However, as someone who had high expectations based on the first film, I was ultimately let down.

If you're curious to see Ted 2 for yourself, I would recommend using ExpressVPN to watch it on Netflix in Canada. With ExpressVPN, you can unlock a ton of movies and TV shows that aren't available in your region, making it a great way to expand your viewing options.

So, while I can't wholeheartedly recommend Ted 2, I do encourage you to check it out for yourself. And if you're looking to unlock more content on Netflix, be sure to sign up for ExpressVPN today!
