Insider starts with a man leaving a casino, heading along the twinkling streets of Seoul in a black car. There are several others here too, and this caravan crawls up the street. Our protagonist, Kim Yo-Han, asks the driver to stop… and bolts up the street.

In jail, there is a gang led by Jang Sun Oh (Kang Young Seok). He is known for gambling, particularly at playing cards. Yo Han tried to play but failed on his first attempt. With no family and only revenge in mind, the junior apprentice asked for another chance to learn the game.
Jang Sun Oh and Kim Yo Han shared their plans once they get released from prison. Sun Oh wants to rule the gambling field in Korea, and he needs someone he can trust. He wants it to be Yo Han as he sees potential in him.

With the help of Oh Soo Yeon (Lee Yoo Young), Kim Yo Han met Do Won Bong. He wanted to bribe him, but Won Bong refused to take it. During their conversation, Yo Han found out who the inmate running Do Won Bong's errand was, and tracked down the deposit account. He also got a piece of information that could pressure Won Bong.
In the previous episode, thanks to Park Ro Sa (Kim Si Eun), he escaped from the chase against Yang Hwa (Jung Man Sik) and Hong Jae Sun. Kim Yo Han returned to Seongju Prison safely, but this became a fuse that provoked Yoon Byung Wook (Heo Seong Tae) and Hong Jae Sun (Kang Shin Hyo).
As his impending release got canceled and all the things he had built up at Seongju Prison were gone in the blink of an eye, Kim Yo Han started over and carefully made new plans for revenge. As his last resort, he had no choice but to beg Do Won Bong and fall to his knees to show his loyalty to the chairman. He was then released from jail.
Kim Yo Han provoked Yang Joon (Heo Dong Won) by offering a big bet. In "Insider" episode 10, the two were drawn into a tense battle.
