Plot Summary of Everything Everywhere All at Once

Everything Everywhere All at Once follows the journey of Evelyn Quan Wang (played by Michelle Yeoh), a Chinese-American immigrant who owns a laundromat with her husband Waymond. When the IRS comes to audit their business, Waymond's body is suddenly taken over by Alpha-Waymond, a version of himself from a parallel universe. Alpha-Waymond explains to Evelyn that there are countless parallel universes, each with its own version of reality.

It is revealed that the multiverse is in danger from Jobu Tupaki (played by Stephanie Hsu), a version of Evelyn's daughter from a parallel universe. Jobu has the ability to access all universes at once and is using her power to create a devastating "everything bagel" that could destroy the multiverse. To stop Jobu, Evelyn must connect with parallel universe versions of herself and fight her minions.

Throughout the film, Evelyn discovers different versions of herself, where she made different choices and flourished. She also learns about Waymond's plans to divorce her and her daughter's struggles with depression and a strained relationship with her mother. As she continues her journey, Evelyn gains powers through repeated verse-jumping and ultimately has to make a decision that will determine the fate of the multiverse.
