Michael Burnett, a missionary doctor, hires Rambo to ferry his group up the Salween River into Burma on a humanitarian mission to provide medical aid to a village inhabited by the Karen people. Rambo initially refuses, then agrees when convinced by Michael's fiancée Sarah Miller.

During the trip, the boat is stopped by pirates demanding Sarah in exchange for passage, forcing Rambo to kill them. The missionaries arrive at the village but are attacked by Burmese regime army forces. Sarah, Michael, and other survivors are taken prisoners. The pastor of the missionaries' church comes to Thailand and asks Rambo to guide a team of five mercenaries on a rescue mission. Rambo takes the mercenaries to the drop-off point and offers to help, but the team's leader refuses.

Rambo eventually joins the mercenaries and they make their way to the army camp to rescue the hostages. After a series of intense battles, Rambo and the team are able to free the hostages and escape from the camp. However, the Burmese regime army forces pursue them, and Rambo must use his skills and strength to help the team survive and complete their mission.

Don't Push Your Luck - A Review of Rambo

If you're looking for a movie full of intense action and gritty violence, then Rambo might be the movie for you. However, if you're looking for a well-written plot and nuanced characters, you might want to look elsewhere.

Sure, the movie has its moments, and Stallone does a decent job as the titular character, but overall, it falls short. The excessive violence and political commentary can be off-putting, and the plot is predictable and formulaic. The performances by the supporting cast are forgettable, and the dialogue is uninspired.

Despite the mixed reception by critics and audiences, some fans of the Rambo franchise may enjoy this movie. However, for the average movie-goer, it's not worth the price of admission.

But if you're still interested in watching Rambo, or any other movies or TV shows that might not be available in your country, you should consider signing up for ExpressVPN. With ExpressVPN, you can unlock content on Netflix from other countries, including Canada, where Rambo is currently available to stream. It's a great way to access a wider variety of content from the comfort of your own home.
